Located on the Southern Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, a short car ride to some of the best beaches in the country. Near the town of Balzar, about 20 minutes by car south of Ojochal, or 30 mins. south of Uvita, just two kilometers down a well-maintained gravel road from the paved Coastal Highway (Costanera).
There are numerous large, flat home sites with jaw-dropping ocean and mountain views. There is pasture capacity for up to 100 head of cattle and the farm currently has about 50 head of cattle, plus horses, which may be purchased separately.
The main water source is a year-round mountain spring located high on the property. It is gravity fed to a lower part then pumped to where it is needed. There is a concession recently granted for the spring, which makes this the proverbial “holy grail” of Costa Rica water sources!
Income potential from tree plantations, cattle operations, cacao, or other crops. Also great potential for a tourism-related business like horseback tours.
22 hectares (53 acres) of the farm consists of a 17 year-old tree plantation with 10.5 hectares planted in teak and the rest in valuable native hardwoods, such as amarillon, cedro, manglillo, and cristobal. There are also many fruit trees, with about 50 rambutans, 20 large mangos, various types of citrus, among others.
There is also a two-story fully furnished owner’s chalet, plus two more workers’ houses. The owner’s chalet features an open kitchen/dining/living room, utility area, three bedrooms, and two full baths. There is a large screened porch on the side. The Master bedroom suite is upstairs and is large. The home was built using native Costa Rican woods. The driveway was just recently paved. There is over one kilometer of public road frontage with potential for selling home/business sites.
The farm is just under 20 minutes driving to the regional airport in Palmar Sur. Close-by is the regional hospital in Ciudad Cortes. And a half-hour away is the Sierpe River, the main boating route to Drake Bay on the Osa Peninsula. Also, only one hour by car to Golfito and/or the Panamanian border, for great shopping.
There are two waterfalls in the midst of the almost 40 hectares of primary and secondary forest, a number of natural springs, and several streams. 300 meters front the Balsar River. Utility power and ample water are already on site.
